Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 14, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to AlertsDown. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and account preferences.
  • Service Data: URLs you add for monitoring, notification preferences.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with our service, features used, and time spent.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information.
  • Billing Data: Purchase status, plan, transaction identifiers, and billing contact details supplied by our payment provider. AlertsDown does not receive your full payment card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our services
  • Notify you about changes to our services
  • Provide customer support
  • Analyze usage to improve our services
  • Detect and prevent fraud
  • Process purchases, provide digital service access, and maintain billing records

4. Service Providers

We use service providers for functions such as payment processing, hosting, analytics, and customer support. They may process personal data only as needed to provide those services and subject to their applicable privacy terms.

5. AlertsDown Mobile App

The AlertsDown mobile app for Android and iPhone shows the status of your monitors and delivers alerts for the monitors on which you select the "Mobile App" contact.

  • Sign-in: You sign in with your AlertsDown email address and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple on iPhone. Apple sign-in requests only your email address and supports Hide My Email. AlertsDown stores the provider's account identifier; Apple authorization refresh tokens are encrypted on our server so we can revoke authorization when you delete your account. Your password is sent over HTTPS to api.alertsdown.com and is never stored by the app.
  • Data stored on your phone: The app keeps a session token and a device sign-in token in the phone's secure storage, plus your monitor list and your recent alerts. Signing out deletes them.
  • Data sent to AlertsDown: Monitoring and phone-registration requests go to the AlertsDown API. Apple and Google also handle their respective sign-in requests. When you sign in, the app registers the phone with its platform, device name and app version. On iPhone it also sends the Apple push notification token so we can deliver alerts through Apple Push Notification service (APNs); alert titles and messages then pass through Apple. On Android the app checks for new alerts about once a minute from a persistent notification; no Google or Firebase push service is used.
  • Privacy and sign-in SDKs: The app does not request location permission or access your contacts, photos or browsing activity. It has no advertising or separate mobile analytics SDK. The Google sign-in SDK may collect a user identifier and an IP address, which Google may use to estimate general location for fraud prevention. Its bundled privacy manifest also declares device identifiers and usage data for SDK analytics, with no advertising tracking. See Google's sign-in privacy information.
  • Removing your data: Signing out removes the phone from your account and clears the app's stored session, monitor list and alerts. You can also sign a phone out from My Contacts in your dashboard. In the iPhone app, Settings → Delete account permanently removes your AlertsDown account and its associated monitoring and device data, cancels recurring subscription renewals, and revokes linked Apple authorization. An accepted deletion that cannot finish immediately continues in the background; account access is disabled while deletion is pending. Alerts kept for the app are otherwise deleted automatically after 7 days.

6. AlertsDown Chrome Extension

The AlertsDown Chrome extension shows the status of your monitors in the browser toolbar and displays desktop notifications for the monitors on which you select the "Chrome extension" contact. Its single purpose is to deliver your AlertsDown monitoring status and alerts in Chrome.

  • Sign-in credentials: The extension asks for your AlertsDown email address and password only to sign in. Your password is sent once, over HTTPS, to api.alertsdown.com and is never stored by the extension.
  • Data stored on your device: The extension keeps an authentication token, your account email address, the list of your monitors with their names, URLs and latest status, your desktop alerts preference, and the dashboard links of recent notifications in Chrome's local extension storage on that device only. This data is not synced to other browsers or devices.
  • Data sent to AlertsDown: The extension communicates only with the AlertsDown API at api.alertsdown.com. It sends your sign-in request, its authentication token with each request, and a request to connect your account's "Chrome extension" notification contact. It reads your monitor list and the alerts queued for that contact. Alerts delivered to the extension count toward your plan's monthly notification allowance.
  • What the extension does not collect: It does not read, collect or transmit your browsing history, the tabs you open, or the content of the web pages you visit. It contains no analytics, no advertising and no remotely hosted code.
  • No sale or transfer: We do not sell data from the extension, do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to operate AlertsDown as described in this policy, and do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
  • Removing your data: Signing out of the extension deletes the authentication token, account email, monitor list and notification links it stored. Uninstalling the extension removes all of its local data. The "Chrome Extension" contact is part of every account and cannot be removed; to stop its alerts, untick it on your monitors.

Our use of information collected through the Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain certain data for compliance with legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of your personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Request restriction of processing your personal data
